Thus ends the long gray winter.

I’d title this post “At Last!” or something nice and dramatic, but it wasn’t exactly a dramatic winter around here. We got barely any snow. I’d read other blogs and see images of the endless snow fall in other areas of the country, and I’d look out my window and think, “huh.”

Not that I’m unsympathetic. I’ve lived through long Rocky Mountain winters. And they can be long. But there’s something a little exciting about endless blizzards that shut down highways and airports. And there’s something quite beautiful about endless expanses of pristine white, even if it took you days to find your car.

Here, back on the east end of the country, this winter was just one long, gray, dull, rain-soaked BLAH.

But now it’s finally coming to an end. We are seeing something other than drab gray around here. At last.

Lovely spring! Enjoy it. I’m resisting saying anything about my coast being ahead of your coast (spring has been here for about a month). No bi-coastal competition here. I’m sure the other coast is just as good. :)
