So, once I’d remembered why I don’t freelance anymore, it was high time I got going on that project I’ve been blowing off ever since December. That’s where I’ve been the past week or so.
The good news is, the end is in sight. It’s finally starting to come together. And, even better, the client really likes the site. And even better, she thinks that my pricing is More Than Fair.
(Note to self: RAISE FREELANCING RATES.)
On the other hand, the house is a shambles, the kids have been watching way too much television, and my hands hurt like hell (carpal tunnel, repetitive stress…you name it, I’ve had it.)
So, many apologies for my lack of posting lately. But my brain is fried. I just sat down and tried to read this week’s Time and found myself staring at the ads, seeing how many type faces I could name from memory, and moaning over the fact that so many of my old favorites have become over-used to the point of irritation.
But speaking of Time, check out this week’s cover story: How to Make Great Teachers
Call me crazy, but it just doesn’t seem that hard to teach children. Oh, wait. That’s right. I forgot. It’s not the teaching that’s hard. It’s the EVERYTHING ELSE.

So glad you’re going to raise your rates - you’re worth a lot more than you charge!
When do we get to see the site?

You do freelance webwork? I am currently doing a freelance writing project for my local paper. About a million not fun advertorials. I totally hear you on typefaces, and the too much tv and the carpal tunnel. I so hate freelancing. But, I so love money. Glad to hear you are almost done with your project.
