That's funny. I always kept pens, crayons, playdoh, scissors etc locked away when my oldest was little. I always took them out each day for him but made sure they went right back when done. I never had marks on the walls, mysterious cut up things lying around until baby number 2 came along. Now Big brother can get these things and he leaves them lying around and now the 4 year old undoes all the damage control I put in place. I love paint.

I love all you guys. I'm sitting here giggling like a maniac right now, reading these comments.

And I guess I should confess that when I was about 6 or 7, I did cut a sizable chunk of hair off of RegularSis's head. And she wasn't even sleeping at the time. Remember that, RegularSis? (Yes, you do need to go hide those scissors. FOREVER.)

And don't get me started on TAPE. Or glue. Or, God help me, GLITTER. :)

I'm really curious what "safety scissors" are even supposed to be safe for. They'll cut just about anything. Hair, clothing, skin, curtains, carpet... about everything except paper. My youngest has cut the clothing and little bows off every stuffed animal or doll in the house, often taking a bit of the stuffed animal with it. I don't know why everything has to be naked, but it must be important to resort to surgery over it.

My dear son (7) decided today that he needed a haircut and that he could do it himself. Yep. He looks like a total dork now. Punishment for taking the scissors to himself? I'm not fixing it. I am such a mean mommy.

My 4 year old is fine with scissors. Glue is a whole other story.

Good luck finding enough hiding places for those scissors.

Gorgons NEVER had to deal with four year olds who like scissors. They'd quake.
Ah, one of those days. I'd say sorry, but the fact is those story's are wonderful to blog about and really wonderful to recall. Of course, that is much, much later.

After the margarita and hot bath!
