oh, thank you for the offer! That is so sweet of you, no matter how demented it may sound :) you've made me smile today, thank you! I've been trying not to call my mom for two days now and ask if someone took the seat cause I just don't want to know that its in the landfill with a shiny new seat in its place ;) I'd rather pretend like its still there, in my grandpa's bathroom (cause did I mention that when they moved, they had separate bedrooms and bathrooms and the purple seat went to my grandpa's bathroom, not grandma's? makes it even funnier, huh?)

Anyway, thank you again for the toilet seat offer, but I think I'll just try to be happy with my Grandma's recipe for buckeyes this Thanksgiving ;) and you enjoy the new study!!!

May I say that I like those kitchen cabinets? I do. I even like the hardware on them. Yes, this is partly due to nostalgia. But those cabinets look like they are made from actual wood, as opposed to particle board. I like them, and I don't care what any of you say. I wouldn't even paint them.

In Texas I had similar cabinets. I was going to yank them all down -so dark and heavey. But first I washed them with actual Spic and Span and a scrubby. They came up two lovely shades lighter and stayed that way.

Gee. I don't pop by for a few days and theres a whole new house going on. Now seriously, I think the kitchen tiles need fixing before the toilet seat. After all, you do have to look at them a lot more now don't you? No offense, but yuk.

The attic is just perfect. I would have bought the house just for that floor. Mmmmmm

Love that study. What view do you get from the windows? It'd be great if they overlooked the big back yard. Imagine windows open, keyboard clicking, summer breezes carrying little girl voices. Lovely.

Weaver...wow...what a story. I'm sitting here trying to find a polite way to say: "hey, if you want that old pink toilet seat, you're welcome to it." But so far, it just keeps coming out wrong.

Is there ever really a polite way to offer a used toilet seat to someone you only know online?

I'll have to spend some time pondering that in my new study. :)

that pink toilet seat actually made me cry a little, but in a good way.

Growing up we always had Thanksgiving at my Grandma and Grandpa's. There was always more than 25 people and it was always tons of fun. We'd get there about 10am and never left before 8 (and always with a few containers of my grandpa's frozen stuffing).

What does this have to do with a pink toilet seat? One year (probably 25 years ago), grandma "redid" the bathroom. Just a little paint and some lavender accessories, but she really loved it. So Grandpa found a lavender toilet seat at the store one day, bought it and put it in. I always thought it was the coolest thing (come on, we only had a boring white toilet!) but it was always a laughed at and teased about thing (in a fun family sort of way).

About ten years ago, my grandparents sold the house and moved into a condo. Even though my grandpa and always said that he hated the "purple seat," he had my uncle replace it with a new seat and brought the purple one to the condo.

My grandpa died about 7 years ago now and grandma is in an assisted living apartment. My mom called a couple of months ago and said that the condo finally sold. I never even thought to ask about the purple seat. It probably got left there for the new owners to replace first off :) I wish I had thought about it sooner, it would have made quite the conversation piece hanging on the wall.

Thanks for the the happy Thanksgiving memories!
