So this morning RegularDad said: I think you need a new camera. I demurred a bit, and talked gently about being frugal and sensible and grown-up-like, but he managed to talk me out of my fuddy-duddy frugalness by pointing out to me that since I started blogging I’d been taking pictures almost every day, and that he’d seen the pictures I’d been taking and understood the limitations of our little Kodak Easy Share, not to mention the fact that there were Labor Day sales happening all over town and if I wanted to get a new camera this would be the best time for quite a while, and THEN he brought up the fact that since quitting the smokes I’ve saved over $1700.00 and I deserved to SPEND that money on something nice, and…well…
TA-DA!!!!!
It’s a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. Yeah, yeah…it’s not quite what Dooce and the Pioneer Woman are using, but I think I’ll manage. I think I’ll manage just fine.
Here’s to RegularDad and his absolutely amazing ability to get me to spend tons of money on myself. You can expect to see more photos this fall, as I figure out exactly how to use this thing.

totally jealous. My hubby has promised me one, but has yet to deliver.
Have fun with your new toy!
I’m jealous too. I have the Rebel film camera, and I LOVE it – but there’s that lag time while I have to get my film developed. I’d love to have BOTH of them, for different uses!
Ooooh.
Aaaaah.
Have FUN!
