I’d heard that about acryllics, and I’ve never had them done. After hearing your story, I’m even more glad I’ve never had them done. :)

I used to bite my nails a bunch too. And several other gross habits. I quit the nail biting by getting acrylic nails. You can’t chew on those. After a couple of maintenance fills, the lady at the nail shop said I needed a new set and proceded to RIP the acrylic tips from where they were superglued on weeks before. I never got acrylics again, and my nails were so torn up and sore from that trauma I couldn’t have chewed them if I wanted to. I wouldn’t recommend that method to others though ;)
